Long, but easy hike to the summit
Hiked Mount Marcy, Overcast weather around 30 F. with little visibility at the summit at 5344' but was a great hike nonetheless. Total of 14.8 miles roadtrip from the Adirondack Loj. Rained almost the entire way up and was drenched the rest of the day.

Bad weather and no views but still rewarding...
My son (14) and I (50), via the Van Hoevenberg Trail from Adirondack Loj at Heart Lake. Took about 10.5 hours, much of it in the rain despite a "clear" forecast. Could have done it faster but spend some time at the top and a bunch of water and photo breaks, mostly on the way up. No views at the summit, disappointingly, but no lightning either. Will try again next summer!

Crew 63 Summits Marcy!
Took the heartiest of my BSA Crew to the summit on a summer weekend hike. We came up from the south near the lake since it was one of the longer approaches and less traveled. We camped the first night at a primitive campsite along the river and there was a great pot hole to cool off in.
We summited the next morning under clear skies with fog blanketing the valleys below us. The river side site we had planned to use that night for camping turned out to be filled filled with leaches where we had to cross the river. No one wanted to cross after me so we slogged it 12 miles back to the trailhead.

Married on Mt Marcy!!
Me and my now wife were married on top. It was a beautiful day, especially for how early in the year it was. We started with 13 people but only 10 made it. Her parents, her brides maid (and her boyfriend), my two groomsmen, the minister and most impressively her 3 year old son (who she and I carried most of the way). Great hike, beautiful scenery, went from warm at the bottom and no snow, to 4' of packed snow in the middle, to ice at the last accent, to warm and beautiful up top. In my opinion I couldn't have picked a better place to get married.

First time up
Windy and horrible rainy weather, but we were determined to make the top. Been back many times in much better weather, and have even skied to the top.

Great and tiring day
3rd state highpoint of Trip #2 (11th overall). So far our longest round trip, probably should have gotten an earlier jump on it, but still made it out by nightfall with a good amount of time spent on the summit.

Adirondacks, Marcy, what's not to like!
Great peak, a long day but i def liked the above treeline area towards the summit. We did the turnoffs up to both Skylight and Haystack too. Another great weather day for us. State HP #11

First hike in the high peaks
Being new to the high peaks, my small group was unprepared for the strenuous hike. With too little water, too little patience, and not a lot of experience, we made it through somehow!

ice and mud
Took me three hours and fifteen minutes from the Loj to the summit and three hours to descend. It had snowed the night before so the muddy trails of the lowlands gave way to ice and snow above 3500 feet. Good weather the day of the hike so the views were fantastic.
