From the Colorado Trail
Gorgeous meadow walking and wildflowers made this a delightful hike. Summit was in and out of clouds, but what a view every time it cleared out! Drained the last of our Yukon Jack on the summit :-(
My third 14er.

Standard Route
Fun day. Weather on top was perfect, spent almost an hour eating lunch.
Planned on doing the SW Slopes but ended up in the amphitheater where we hit the West Couloir right up the gut. A little longer but better scenery. Descended SW Slopes. Awesome weather and amazing views.
Overcast skies caused me to push a bit harder in an effort to beat the weather, but nature allowed me on the summit and even brought a bit of sun near tree line on the descent. Encountered parades of hikers above tree line, but hiked back nearly alone.

ski descent SW gulley
Snow storm set in with winds gusting hard enough to knock us over. Summited in whiteout and descended back to south ridge in white out and crazy winds. We were able to find our way back to the gulley we climbed and as we descended this gulley, the weather became more agreeable. An awesome day with some tricky route finding and weather conditions that were unexpected for early june. Got to ski a little powder from the fresh snow.

A little more fun than the main route, true summit was a little tricky to find.

Not Today
Started from the N. Halfmoon TH to take the SW slopes route. Great hike. I had the entire area to myself, but clouds and thunder turned me back just shy of the summit ridge. There's always next year!

Decided to tackle Mt. Massive from the Southeast Ridge for a different approach. Climbed over three peaks before reaching Mt. Massive for an exhausting but fun climb. Returned via the standard trail.
