Very high summit, great view of many distant peaks, perfect weather, good access (if you know how to avoid the boulder fields and loose talus). A great way to spend a Sunday with my brother.

Rock Creek solitude
Didn't see anyone all day, except for three bighorn sheep. Great views. Much, much more rock than I thought though. Advise maybe doing this early season when there is snow, avoid some of the nasty boulder fields.

Followed BCL's decent tracks (see below) for much of the ascent. Perfect weather/views. Managed to avoid much of the talus on the decent by staying higher and sticking to the snow where I could.

After a questionable start to the day at Tioga Pk, I thought there might be thunderstorms, rain, hail or snow, but everything turned out fine.

Great view
A fun climb. Great views of Mt. Abbot (1989) and Mt. Tom (1991). Climbed with Christine and Juli. Got chased off the summit by a thunderstorm.

Sierra Club Peak Climbing Section private trip - 6 women. we camped at Francis Lake and stuck to the ridgeline for some fun easy bouldering. All made it to the top. I had a fall on the way down and dove head first into a boulder - ouch! Thunderbumpers built up and we plunge-stepped as quickly as we could most of the way down the sandy drainage where we could. Much harder than I expected but I'm out of shape from a protracted injury recovery. Very fun trip!

Sticking to the tops of the northern ridges after Francis Lake cuts down on the tedious talus. Little bit less then 5hrs CTC.

Soloed up the blocky north face. Great view of Bear Creek Spire from the top.

Sierra Club outing. About 2.7 miles from Rock Creek Lake to camp at Francis Lake, then the sub-ridge to the main ridge and the top. Great viewing peak.
