Interesting date to climb, lovely fall day, missed a turn off the trail but turned around a few minutes later and no other problems.

Southeast Slopes
The wife, pup and I. Missed the trail on the way down somehow (snow covered?) and ended up above some neat cliffs. A little backtracking was required, but we made it.

SE slopes route
Frustrating day of postholing and having the dog on leash for the bushwhack (the leash got tangled a LOT!).

Decided to head straight up one of the couloirs to meet the east ridge. Great glissade down standard slope. Beautiful day

Southeast Slope
Woodie Hopper & I celebrated our 40th birthdays by climbing the southeast slope. Think we stayed on the Halfmoon Creek trail on the way up well past where we should have crossed the creek. Ended up slogging through some swampy muck before crossing what was left of the creek above 11,600. No matter, as we ended up where we needed to be for the true climbing portion of the hike. Some snow on the mountain on the final ascent, and on the summit, but nothing difficult to get past. Really cloudy w/ low visibility on top. Came through the forest on the way down. Kind of guessed our way through the trees until we could hear the creek & find a place to cross. Overall a great hike & some serious solitude!
A little snow, a good time. Climbed with David Halliburton from Tulsa. I failed the first time earlier this year partially due to a lot of snow, and a lack of preparedness. Not this time.

Southeast Slopes
The register only had 7 summits for this year. It was great to see the names of many SP'ers and friends that had signed over the past few years. Got a nice glissade on the way down.

SE Slopes, traverse to Champion
Combined Oklahoma with a ridge traverse to Deer/K49/13736/Champion. Nice way to get all of these if the weather holds for you with plenty of bailout options. Halfmoon Creek was moving pretty fast, but I found a great place to cross at 11740' above the cascade that was an easy two foot hop across.

Southeast Slopes from Halfmoon
Interesting route finding on the way up but a really nice climb. We were surprised to see two other people on the summit. I believe we crossed the creek too early but we were able to find a good route with no issues on the ascent and descent.

SE Slopes Ski Descent
Skied off the summit between scattered snow showers and wind. The snowpack was super fat above treeline. Warmer temps would've made for nicer conditions but apparently summer isn't coming this year.
