Mt Olomana with an aussie friend  Sucess!

Great day for a hike!
Made it up to the 2nd peak, but my friend didn't want to risk the 3rd one, so we turned back. Super hot day!

Slick mud  Sucess!

On way up I mentioned to Heidi that it was good it wasn't raining because it looked like the route would be really slick if wet. It started raining on top of the 1st peak. It was really slick on the way down -- like no way to not fall a couple of times slick. It is a beautiful climb.

Exposure City

This is a brief but challenging hike. I'd recommend against this hike if you have any fear of heights or if you do not like exposure. Some basic technical climbing is preferable even though it isn't necessary. The big reason is that you have some easy vertical climbs of 10-20 feet, but making an error is very costly. I made the first summit, but stopped there. Wonderful views.

Olomana  Sucess!

It had rained the night before and the trail was really muddy and slick. I only went to the summit of the first peak. I really enjoyed this hike. Lush, green, ocean...what more could you want?

Mount Olomana  Sucess!

Awesome hike, great views, surprisingly technical towards the top. Definitely not for the average day hiker.

Excellent!  Sucess!

Excellent day hike! Didn't get to do the other two peaks but plan to do them soon! I didn't think it was as hard as alot of people made it out to be. No 4 or 5 hour hike! More like 2 or 3. Still had fun when it came to the rock climbing part! Excellent trip!

Couldn't pass this one up!  Sucess!

I had to make this summit before our vacation was over. My buddy and I planned on going to the first summit and calling it a day. Once we got to the top I couldn't resist the lure of the other two. My friend headed down and waited for me. The views were spectacular on all three peaks and the third summit is definitely worth the time! Took about 50 min to summit and then another 30 min to reach the third peak. Great trip and amazing hike! Now they just have to open up the Haiku Stairs...

Windward Fins  Sucess!

The most fantastic hike in Oahu. Overlooking Kailua bay, you get to scramble up clay, root, and then narrow rock blade. Some ropes are in place as well for help up and easy rappel.

Oh My Olomana!  Sucess!

Ran up from the golf course with a few guys (BYU-Hawaii Cross Country team) on a nice day that got stormy on us. Did all three summits which were awesome and got some incredible pictures. The views are unbelievable and the trail is as fun as they come in my opinion. Booked it down off the mountain as the storm started to rage.

MtO  Sucess!

I just keep coming back to this mountain over and over again. The third peak is well worth it if you are not intimidated by heights.

Fun  Sucess!

I forget the exact date. Flying into Oahu for a conference, this peak called out to be climbed. I was happy to find that there was an established (and as it turns out quite exciting) route to the top.

Island Peak  Sucess!

Beautiful climb up the standard route. The clay and rocky class 3 sections were interesting. The summit is amazing, didn't make it to the other two summits.

Route Climbed: Olomana Trail Date Climbed: December 16, 2005  Sucess!

What a fun climb! The views were just amazing. Dry conditions made the trail and the rock sections easier. Did not traverse to the third summit because of time constraints.

Fun! This short, steep climb is definitely a highlight on Oahu. Highly recommended. The difficulty keeps the tourists away. The scrambling was really enjoyable.

Route Climbed: Olomana Trail Date Climbed: 2 February 2003

What an awesome postcard view of Oahu! I badgered a friend to follow me up this spine of a mountain and we made the first peak to find winds gusting around 17mph. Trail was fairly slick since the couple of weeks' worth of rain hadn't soak in yet but the rock scrambling went well considering in some sections if you slip you will definitely have a quick trip straight down! Slight fear factor for the inexperienced. A very beautiful hike.
