Was a little tricky navigating our way over to the main summit in the dark. Lots of fun though!
Had a blast, bought crampons after this summit. Slippery fun!
Also did a summer summit in 2011.
Nice hike on the trail to the top in bad weather with brother Nick.
Used to run this in High School. It was a bit tougher now that I am out of shape. I love the views of the city then the ranges. There are way too many stupid people who take this hike with not enough water and get stuck (happened 3 times in that week that I climbed).
4/7/2016 Warm day sunny day.
3/31/2016 Quite a bit of new snow since I did it 4 days ago. Stormy on top and all but no visibility. It's always exciting on Olympus.
3/27/2016 Summit scramble was pretty icy which made it pretty fun.
1/7/2016 Quite a bit of new untracked snow the last 600 feet to the top.
1/1/2016 #35&36. Back to back ascents on New Years Day with Greg Jagielski.
11/14/2015 After work hike. Fastest time to top at 1 hr 27 min and fastest roundtrip at 2 hr 23 min.
9/23/2015 North and South summit via the West Slabs with Greg Jagielski,
3/28/2015 After work, 1:38 up 2:39 RT,
11/2/2014 Up the standard trail under snowy conditions with Greg Jagielski, Donovan Lynch, and Ben Stokes.
10/5/2014 Along with North summit via a free climb of the West Slabs.
9/21/2014 With Brad Yates and Lubos Pavel. We were planning on doing the West Slabs route but it was a very rainy day so we opted to head up the standard trail. We had a break in the weather as we summited but otherwise it was a very wet day. 28th ascent.
5/25/2014 With the WMC as part of the Wildcat Ridge traverse. A lot of snow on the ridge made for a very long hike.
4/3/2014 after work.
3/31/2014 25th time to the top of Mount Olympus. A lot of new snow from the storm yesterday.
11/28/2013 Second Thanksgiving in a row climbing Mount Olympus.
6/9/2013 With the WMC as part of the Wildcat Ridge Traverse.
4/21/2013 Climbed after work.
4/7/2013 Climbed after work. 2 hr 45 min RT, fastest time to summit at 1 hr 44 min.
3/31/2013 Followed up a Grandeur Peak climb with a climb of Mt. Olympus. From the top of Blister Hill, I climbed the Forgotten Arete to the saddle. Great scramble.
11/22/2012 Thanksgiving Day.
10/17/2012 Started up at 5:00 am, hiked up in the dark. Reached the summit at 6:50 am and hung out on top until 7:30 am. Watched the sunrise and the city come to life before heading back down. Back down to trailhead at 8:45. Good way to start the morning.
10/6/2012 Traversed over after climbing Triangle Peak.
10/16/2011 via the West Ridge, both North and South summit.
Fun hike. We camped on top in the snow and woke up to a blizzard!
Topped out today with my son & wife for the first time. Steep! Summit was about 70 degrees with no wind. Beautiful. Had the summit to ourselves for over an hour, and enjoyed the quiet. The class 3 section was fun!
9/20/09 - Began climbing with Daniel and Billy at 5 am to catch the sunrise, and was not disappointed. The overly melodramatic notes in the register cracked us up.
1/23/11 - Hike with the Eug on a clear, inversionless day. Had the summit to ourselves.
7/11/11 - Evening solo hike involving a hasty summit to avoid approaching thunderclouds. A light, pleasant rain caught up with me on the descent.
1/1/12 - Hike with Jess and Dave; glissaded a good part of the way down. Happy New Year!
6/20/12 - Solo in the morning/ early afternoon.
Made it to the top of the slab this time but didn't take the time to traverse all the way over the ridge to the actual summit.
wow! that's impressive. So is the north summit that little pinnacle at the top of the west slabs? we made it to the top of that today but didn't want to go clear over to what looked like the real summit.
Completed this climb with my long time friend and medical school buddy Dan Ward
Took longer than expected due to the slippery snow on the way up to the saddle. We had fun on the way down though!
Was planning on 1:30 up and 45 minutes or so down, but that plan was doomed when we hit the snow! It was very slick and took us nearly 90 minutes to do the last mile or so (1000 vertical feet). We got off course the last 100 meters and ended up doing some fine 5.7 ish climbing to get over to the summit. A bit sketchy at times, but it seemed better than downclimbing back to the trail and post-holing through more snow to get on track. Didn't spend much time on top, but was really impressed. Very surprised by how steep the last 1/3 mile or so is...didn't expect that! We were alone on the summit surprisingly (Saturday at 2:30ish pm) with one other guy close that we passed on the way up.
3/10/2012 - Second trip up, this time with views! Gorgeous views! My wife made it to the top, as did our little dog Pepper. What a great day. Got to hang out with Kadee and Castlereagh.
2/25/2012 - This was my first time up. The day started out very windy and quite warm, but the winds died down and the temperature dropped. Neither was a major factor, however. (Except that my bottled water started freezing!)
It was fun to see Joe Bullough get his 400th summit! There were ~10 people at the top when we got there, and Joe graciously offered us hot dogs. (Both he and his wife seem like great people.)
Thanks goes to Kadee for helping me prepare, and then accompanying me on the hike. I just wish the clouds hadn't been there so we would have had better views.
It was a great day and a fun hike!
Helped Joseph Bullough celebrate his 400th summit, Bryan's (bun84067) 1st and my 5th. Had a great day and it was fun to see all the SPers at the summit.
A total of 155 times. I love this peak in winter. Where else can you get 4000 vertical feet in and virtually never need snowshoes?
2/25/2012 Had a great time participating in Joe B's 400th ascent although I have to say that cupcakes piled high with gooey icing do not make good mitten food.
12/2/11, 11/7/11, 4/20/11 (with Sam!), 4/12/11, 11/13/10, 6/4/10x2,
5/20/10, 4/24/10, 4/9/10, 4/3/10, 3/4/10, 2/26/10, 2/20/10, 2/13/10, 2/2/10, 1/27/10, 1/20/10, 10/29/09, 4/11/09
4/2/09 I picked this peak to do today because I thought it was going to be easy. Ha ha ha. I didn't bring snowshoes. Not smart. Moogie737, who did, was sinking in a foot and I another foot on top of that, and those were the good sections. I did a lot of crawling. After he ditched his snowshoes on the final steep push, we took turns shoveling the chest high snow out of the way with our hands to enable us to take a step.
03/04/09, 02/27/09, 02/10/09, 12/29/08, 12/23/08, 12/18/08, 12/13/08, 11/17/08, 11/11/08, 11/7/08 plus 120 other times.

I was told that this was an easy Mount, it was my first of this class, not snow but some ice, fun still!!
Great hike up the steep trail. Great views of the city lights the whole way, fun scrambling at the top, perfect weather, and some sliding down the icy parts of the trail on the way down. Finally made it up this one after staring at it for so long.
My first time up. Low visibility with light flurries and extra cold temps. Glorious.
Main trail in mid summer. Cool on top. Descended off trail unfortunately and passed a few rattlesnakes. Fun time despite the encounter.
