I needed something easy after Sunshine and Redcloud the day before. This fit the bill. Seventy minutes up or so, with excellent outcroppings of white quartz in a couple spots near the summit. Great views.

Monarch Crest
Out-and-back solo from Monarch Pass with Monarch Ridge South, Peel Point, PT 12195 and Pahlone. Also made the quick trip up PT 11692 on the north side of the pass.

Excellent views from this little beauty! Looking all around from a summit like this one reminds me how many glorious years worth of peaks I have yet to enjoy in this amazing state! In the snow and cold with Kiefer.

Via Monarch Pass
A deceptively cold & windy day despite plenty of sun and blue skies. Hiked with Sarah.

Just a quick rest stop peak for us. We let some of our beloved dog's ashes fly from the summit. Run free Ruger. This was the first of many stops for you.
It was cloudy when we got up in Salida. Forecast called for 50% chance of afternoon rain. I was sure it was going to rain. Made it to Monarch Pass by 6:30 a.m. and were on the summit around an hour later. Turned out to be a very beautiful mountain. I am glad I went there. Clouds went away.
