Hiked there and back with Zach (while doing Eisenhower) from Lakes of the Clouds. It was sunny and hot that day. Beautiful views. Bad sunburn.
On the way to Washington good views of the upcoming peaks, especially the beautiful Eisenhower
Took the Crawford Path up. This was a nice hike. I was in no hurry and the trail was very easy to negotiate. I was getting ready for the hard work when the trail leveled out near the summit. It was a little cool on top, but the views of the rest of the Presidential Range were excellent.
Heading north, awesome weather
Presi Traverse from the north
Day hike up washington up crawford path
Nice part of the traverse, pretty area, the tough part is way up north
Back in 75 but still remember the climb up the Crawford Path. What a great 2 week trip.
A great hike on a beautiful summer day. Lots of bugs though.
Second Trip up Mt. Pierce, nicer weather and no falls this time :)
We looped up and over the summit by Crawford Path and down Webster Cliff to Mizpah Spring hut. Slipped on the wet rocks on the Webster Cliff trail and knocked myself out...I had a big headache but I was OK.
Part of the Presi Traverse. Down to the Miz Hut for a quick lunch break before continuing on. Clouds had given way to sun for a lovely day.
Southbound thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail.
Climbed with Eisenhower, Franklin and Monroe via the Crawford Path from Highland Center. Nice ascent with good views of the Southern Presidentials from the summit. Met a few thru-hikers along the way as well. From here it's practically above treeline all the way to Madison!
First peak bagged on my Crawford Path hike to the summit of Mt Washington.
but too crowded for me on the summit.
First winter overnight with Kat.
We were a bit clod given that we haven't invested in true winter bags yet. However the tent site we shared with only a fuzzy Marten who strolled by.
Summit was pretty, but our trek on to Ike was even better.
Via the Crawford Path. Beautiful crystal clear day and about 20 degrees at the base. The trail was pretty well packed so we opted to not use the snow shoes. Post holed a few times though. Windy at the summit. Decided to strap on the snow shoes and head down the loop trail to the look at the hut and ran into new, powdery, very deep, unbroken snow on the trip down. It was slow going, but we made it back just at dusk.
Beautiful day in the mountains. Part of a 3 mountain traverse.
