The East Slopes all the way from the Mount Princeton Hot Springs  Sucess!

We climbed before the road was open to the public. The summit register was charred from a lightning strike.

E Slopes  Sucess!

We walked all the way up the road and camped out near 12,000 feet, and fought 70mph winds at the top. Mountain was dry, even though it was late November.

Route: East Slopes  Sucess!

Sometime in 10/2002 with a group of friends from the radio towers 4WD parking. The drive up was tougher for some than the hike...A beautiful day.

Great August Day  Sucess!

Climbed with a friend for his first from the 2WD, turns out he didn't bring two of the nalgenes I gave him thus resulting in a long waterless hike for me, turned around to do Kit Carson the next day, 26 miles + 12,000 ft < 36 hours = a bit tired.

I had to park far below due to my little sports car wouldn't fare too well higher up :o)

It was dreadfully HOT. The hottest day I've hiked in by far. By the time I was half way up, I was down to just my shorts and shoes.

I had to bum a ride down with some girls in their jeep (I wasn't complaining!) because I just couldn't handle that distance with the heat.

1st hike of the year along with King Tone and Ef. Car camped on Mt. Princeton road. Not a hard hike from where we started, they both smoked on the way up!

Route Climbed: East Ridge Date Climbed: Oct 30, 2005  Sucess!

High winds, lot's of deep powder snow early in the year. Climbed from the radio towers. Caution should be take on later ascents of this route due to avalanche potential. Several steep gullies were filling with deep snow by late October.

Route Climbed: via Southwest Ridge from Grouse Canyon Trailhead Date Climbed: August 13th, 2003  Sucess!

I had to go out of my way and the find "the road less traveled" and thus I was in a remote canyon camping in the brush all alone. So it was to no surprise that I had a hard time finding a "path" the next morning as this barely used approach proved impossible to find. Not to mention, cairns being built in different directions by all kinds of previous climbers who decided to make their routes, the trail to take. Thus I was forced to pretty much go as high as I could and keep on moving until I couldn't go no more. After reaching Point 13,971 as shown on my topo, I was on the right track and had an easy time getting to the summit.

Route Climbed: Grouse Creek Date Climbed: 16 July 2005  Sucess!

This route is just so beautiful. It's long, but fun the whole way up. We found almost no trail the whole day - up or down - but the bushwacking went just fine. At about 13,700' we waited as thunderstorms chased folks down the main route off the summit and then we had the summit to ourselves.

the princeton road, over and over

2/5/11- long winter climb up the princeton road(12.4 mi/5695' vertical, ~13.5 hrs). i forgot how horrid the never ending talus slog can be from tigger on. think i'm done with this mountain, or this particular route.

8/3/04- a beautiful mountain to behold from a distance, but up close it is just an unpleasant scree slog. save this one for winter folks!

Route Climbed: East Ridge Date Climbed: Sunday July 31, 2005  Sucess!

Started up at 6:42AM from about a mile below where the trail breaks from the road. Very few people on this trail passed two people at the ridge and proceeded to the summit at 8:36 which I had to myself for 20mins. Perfect weather just a whisper of a breeze and clear skies all around. Headed back down at 9:00AM and back to the car at 10:40 with a few groups of people coming up. My 15th 14'er and another beautiful Colorado morning. Sweet!!

Can you say ROCKY? ...nothing like a day of hopping scree! The last 1,000 feet vertical will get your heart a pumpin! Met some nice people up there.... but I have a question, do you think it's okay to make cell phone calls from the top, have your dog poop and attack other dogs, and display a large rifle on your hip??? ....didn't think so. People, we hike to enjoy the beauty and get away from the noise and the ruckus, can I get an amen on this one?!:-)

Long day in the boots, but wow what a view. #7 for me, but my first collegiate. A short visit on Tigger Peak was well worth the side trip. Shane, UJ, and Gawdun completed the journey.
