beautiful weather, and a beautiful climb.
Great climb. Disappointment Cleaver at 1:30 am with crampons on rock was quite the treat.
held up at ingraham with crazy weather, rockfall, thunder, lightning, general mountain awesomeness.
Memorable blue bird day...
a great day summitting rainier in 2011!! We climbed Dissapointment cleaver. This year 2012 we tried again but were unsuccessful due to massive snowstorm. We only reached 13,000 ft this time before having to descend back to camp. we waited out storm for two days then went to Mt.Hood instead.
A 4th of July climb via the Emmons that was awesome. Due to winds most parties threw in the towel early but staying one more day set the stage for sharing the summit with one other person!
Great climb. Got to see a beautiful sunrise from summit.
Cold! Altitude hit me pretty good. First time up Rainier. I'm hooked. Can't wait to go back for another climb.
Blue sky, few clouds, unusually warm, very awesome climb. Thanks RMI!
Climbed the DC leaving the car at 5 PM and returning to it at close to 5 PM the next day. We had a very limited time/weather window. I think we got about 2 or 3 hours of sleep at Camp Muir. It was awsome!
29.07.2012 Winthrop overnighter
Did the Schurman route. Perfect weather.
A couple of successful ascents, both from Muir to the Ingraham. Thanks to my partners Dan Logan (in 1979) and Big John Anderson (1984)
From Paradise to Muir, we had low vis, snow, wind...loved the rime ice that collected on us. Quick nap and it was off to the summit via DC. Couldn't ask for better weather, clear sky, freezing temps, light winds..... Descent from Muir to Paradise really sucked with post-holing and shit but we were just thrilled to have summitted between all the lousy weather this month. :)
Hiked in late on 8/31, acclimated all day 9/1, and made a push at 1am on 9/2. Got to the top of the Cleaver @ 6am, only another 1800ft and 2.5 hrs ish to the top, but partner had to turn around. Conditions were prime - no snow, rain, bluebird both days up high. Too many people generally speaking for my taste
Got up in time to watch the sun rise. Enjoyed this route much more than the DC route.
From camp at Ingram Flats with Murad, Goran and Thomas. Respectable peak.
Took the dc route and made Columbia crest. 40 mph winds at summit but great weather on the way down. Awesome trip
