Terraces  Sucess!

Hiked with the WMC from terraces trail-head in mill creek. Great hike. We had about 30 ppl show up so we went as several groups. Our group hit Raymond and as we came down a nasty cloud came in so we skipped Gobbler's and went back down.

Scout Trip  Sucess!

We hiked over from Dog Lake where we had camped the night before. We bagged Circle All Peak on the way. Even this year (2011) with all the precip we've had in Salt Lake, the drainages were all dry - so we hiked a mile down Butler Fork to the spring to refill our water bottles.

The scramble at the top of Raymond was pretty interesting. In a few spots I was a little nervous for the scouts with me but we had no problems. We descended Mill B North Fork to the parking lot - it was a long descent with our big packs.

Great hike. Loved it.

Butler Fork Route  Sucess!

Hiked with Caroline via Butler Fork. Ended up taking a couple wrong turns but found the way eventually. Accidentally started up Gobblers Knob. Oops. Pretty windy at the summit. Took about 5 hrs round trip. Fun scramble at the top!

Birthday Hike  Sucess!

This is a great quick hike, with a nice scramble at the top. The trail from Mill B was busy, but had the summit to myself. I went down one of the chutes to connect with the Desolation trail and then back out of Mill B. Good choice as far as time, but I fell on my side and my cell phone took the brunt of my weight and I shattered the screen. Oh well! Literally ran into a HUGE bull moose right above the second small bridge. (I should stop listening to music with headphones while hiking) I have never been so close to a moose. A great peak to summit for my birthday.

Butler to Raymond, down Neff's Canyon  Sucess!

Great hike, beautiful day. Started from Butler's Fork Trailhead... then ascended to the summit of Mount Raymond. If you're approaching from the East there is an interesting scramble (class 3) as you near the summit... really not too bad... but challenging enough that I wouldn't recommend taking a young kid (under 10). We descended down the SW slope and followed a faint trail that traversed the eastern part of the Wildcat Ridge until Lambs Canyon. We ended up traversing across a couple of couliers with some scree... took longer than we thought... but once we got to the top of Lambs Canyon it was easy going. I definitely have appreciation for those do the Wildcat Ridge from Mount Olympus to Mount Raymond in one day... that looks to be an extremely challenging hike! I highly recommend Mount Raymond... and definitely plan on doing this hike again in the Fall when the colors are out.

Not as many as Olympus  Sucess!

6-12-10 #57 and #58 From the S-turn via Mill B North. Rained and snowed for the first 2.5 hours but then I got lucky and it only precipitated intermittently after that. On my way down the 2nd time I met a guy coming up the trail who asked me how much further it was to Lake Blanche. Whoops!
2-28-08 #47 Beautiful snowshoe trip with Moogie737 via Butler Fork.

Great hike! Not too intense. Can definitely take a less inclined male with you on this hike to show them a thing or two about how beautiful the mountains are. Good, easy hike for sure.
