Took the afternoon off to hike up this peak. I've lived in Boulder for less than a month, so I found the steepness of this hike to be quite challenging. Descended via the even steeper East Ridge.

Sanitas trail
The steps at the bottom are a pain in the ass. Nice views from the top though. Hit this peak, Flagstaff and Haystake today.

Mount Sanitas Trail
Took an evening hike via the Mount Sanitas Trail. The first third is basically climbing a log staircase. Overall, an enjoyable hike, but if you're climbing in the Boulder group and want a great view at the end, I would go for Green instead of this option.

Wow
Just moved from Midwest and nearly got passed by an octogenarian with two walking poles. Good eye- (amd lung-) opener for a beginner.

Regular Morning Hike
Finally decided to sign the log. Been climbing sanitas twice a week for a couple months now, plan on continuing well into winter. Feel free to join me Tuesday/Thursday morning around 745 at the trailhead.
I live walking distance from the trailhead and have done Mount Sanitas (and Dakota Ridge and the Valley trail) numerous times, often with my daughter in the pack. Great little escape & a great workout.
Great hike next to Boulder. Hiked/ran it in the am before work and still made it there by 8:00.

Sanitas
Been up a few times but this was the latest one. Best time up the 'short' way is 34:30. I would love to go up in sub-30 some day but I'll have to work at it hard. Great mountain for training.

Hike then Boulder
Hike the south ridge. Bring your rock shoes and stash them for a bouldering session on the way back down. Makes for a nice afternoon combo.

Nothing better to do...I had a couple hours to spare while in Boulder on a business trip, so I ran up this peak for a little exercise. Some time in the late 1990's.
