Good easy hike which allowed me to rest from the day before.

Great Scott!
Straightforward but gorgeous trail to the top. Other summits in the park get you closer to the rim and give more dramatic views (Hillman comes to mind), but this was my favorite hike overall.

Mt. Scott trail
This was a nice short hike to the top. The trail is well maintained and wide. This was my wife's first ever trek up a mountain and she did awesome. Good starter for anyone.

fun hike - nice views
My wife Lori and I enjoyed this hike together while traveling through SW Oregon on our way back to Southern Nevada.
7/26/2013 Climbed Mount Scott while passing through Crater Lake National Park on the way to climb a couple of Cascade volcanoes in the area. Nice leg stretcher after a 700 mile drive. Amazing views of Crater Lake and the surrounding area.

A must do if your there
If you like to hike and take pictures, this peak is for you. I had a great time and reached the summit in just under an hour.

Easy hike to great vantage
Ran the 13.1 mile Crater Rim run in the morning, hiked up Mt. Scott with friends in the afternoon.

Return to Crater Lake
I'm kind of casually working on the High Points of Counties that the PCT passes through, after hiking that in 2006. I was in such a hurry then that I didn't climb any of the peaks, so am now going back and doing some of them as I travel.
An easy hike with a nice wide trail most of the way. Looks like it gets lots of use.
This peak was not on my weekend itinerary. I was more focused on CoHPs and CoGPPs. But after a friend in Medford mentioned Mount Scott, and then *numerous* people I passed on Mount Thielsen mentioned Mount Scott, and then finally meeting two PCT section-hikers from Portland (Lisa Jo & Del) who offered to pay the national park entrance fee in exchange for me giving them a ride for ~15 miles... I soon found myself heading to Mount Scott.
There were several very small patches of snow remaining on the trail, but nothing to be concerned with. Very hot day. Great views from the summit.
This was the fifth of seven Top 100 peaks I summited in Oregon during a 3-1/2 day timeframe.

Relaxing reward hike
After completing our Thielsen climb the day before, this was a great reward hike for our Mazama climb group. We made a nice morning hike to the lookout tower and headed down as a group. The views are spectacular, but the chipmunks are a little aggressive.

Trail up Backside down
Wife and I took the normal trail to the top (and with Ranger approval) went down the north side to camp out by Pothole spring. Nice hike up, great views.

with the whole family
nice hike moderate exertion but little guy (4 yearws old) was able to make it all the way up by himself too. Great views, this is really a special place.
