4th of July on the Summit
Nice climb - a bit windy. Slept just off the summitt to help acclimate for our trip to Pequeno Alpamayo, Huayana Potosi, and Illimani in Bolivia 2 weeks later.

4x, 3 seasons
8/8/04 - Climbed standard route from the east. Nice hike with lots of cool old mining buildings and plenty of marmots.
10/2/05 - Climbed unintentionally after summitting Dyer & Gemini from Iowa Gulch. Only peak I ever climbed by accident :)
1/18/09 - Winter ascent from Iowa Gulch winter closure (10,900 ft). Snowshoe slog up the gulch then mostly dry slopes above 11,900 ft. Climbed Sheridan afterwards.
1/29/17 - Bonus peak after climbing Dyer from Iowa Gulch winter closure.

Fourmile Route
Hiked with Shannon who was doing her first 14er. Lots of crowds on Saturday, but great views from the summit.
Although we caught an August snowstorm, this was a very easy hike to a broad summit. Starting above tree line and overcast, there was not much to look at.

Iowa Gulch Circuit

Perfect Day!
First 14er of 2008! Great day hiking Sherman with my great friend Nancy. Met up with a fellow southerner (Jeb) on the way to the summit and did a couple glissades down the snow slopes of Sherman.

A nice hike
Came up from Leadville side. My first CO 14er! easy traverse on snow into the pass between sheridan and sherman than a nice sprint up to the summit.

Standard Route
My future wife and I car camped at the road end and made the easy climb the following day. Have returned a couple of times since... once with my daughter when in high school. Neat climb - easy 14'er. Good memories.

SW Ridge
Climbed this again with two buddies under some brutally cold temps (not sure if it ever got above zero). Clear skies and a long death march back to the truck. Kind of a rewarding day!

Sherman
Easy hike. Only took an hour and a half to summit, and about 45 minutes to get back down. Only saw 2 other people, a father and his 8 year old daughter. Want to take some beginners on a 14er, this is the one since it is easy and not that crowded.
