Siegel  Sucess!

Parked along the road in Lone Pine Canyon and slogged up the west slopes of the peak over talus (would not recommend this route). Upper plateau was very barren and lunar-like. Excellent views in all directions. Will be back up here often I'm sure.

Trifecta  Sucess!

Drove up to about 100 feet below summit of Galena, coming from west side. Then drove to a couple hundred vertical feet below Galena, and had to actually hike for a half hour to get to Siegel. See Peakbagger for trip report.

Red Canyon Rd overgrown  Sucess!

Be aware that Red Canyon Road is very overgrown. We brought pruners and cleared it up somewhat, but if you're planning on driving up this road in your shiny new Escalade, think again. :)

Galena and Orceana from Red Canyon  Sucess!

*Much* easier from Red Canyon than via the westside route I took in 2010.

Did Galena and Orceana, didn't bother with Siegel this time around.

Pics and commentary are here.

Red Canyon Road  Sucess!

Drove up the road south of Galena Peak to about 9100'. Bagged Oreana Peak after knocking out Mount Siegel. No snow on the road.

Drove to the saddle  Sucess!

Drove up to the Galena Saddle and hiked the short distance to the peak and then over to Galena Peak. It was cold (13 degrees) and windy.

Ridge traverse from Pine Nut Road  Sucess!

Approached from the north, which was probably not the most efficient route. A trio of wild horses watched me for part of the ascent.

Pics and trip report are here.

Red Canyon  Sucess!

Hiked Oreana, Siegel and Galena Peaks from Red Canyon. The view of the Sierra and Great Basin Peaks is awesome. There was still a fair amount of snow due to the late season storms we've had but nothing major. The Pine Nuts are really quite nice. If one were inclined, I think driving most of the way to the summit of these peaks is possible given the good condition of the Jeep roads.

Three peaks in one day  Sucess!

From Red Canyon, reached the summits of Oreana Peak, Galena Peak, and Mount Siegel. Much of the snow had melted. We only had a few patches to deal with.
