Shortcut Loop
Very warm winter day with a nice north wind. Could see many miles of high Sierra peaks in the distance. Fun to go out with some friends and get a great workout.

Loved the steep ascent coming up from the southwest. Felt great. Will _definitely_ be back. Perfect spring weather.

Sizer Loop
First trip to Henry Coe, they really like their steep trails over there! Went up the Shortcut and circled back through Poverty Flat, car to car time a hair under 6 hours for the 15.8 mile day. Felt sore afterword, so it certainly gave a good workout. Trip report is HERE

"The Shortcut!"
I've done this one 6 times, so far. The first time was in 2008, and the 2nd time was pushing a Mountain Bike. Many hikers log their "creek-to-bench" time at http://coord.info/GCFD2F My most recent climb included some great views of teh snow-capped Sierra

Bike ride
By "ride" I mean I pushed my bike up the hills and coasted down. Did the classic loop, clockwise, about 15 miles. The coast down from the summit was one of the nicest rides I've ever had -- could see a long swath of snowy sierra peaks in the distance.

Loop
Did the loop clockwise. Took trails instead of roads whenever possible. Nice day with great weather.
...many times from 1979 'til about 1995 (same year I was married... hmmmm...). For me, a great loop for staying in condition for Sierra trips. On very clear days, peaks such as Goddard and Darwin are clearly visible. Bring binoculars.

From Park HQ
Done this loop a couple times.
First time was in '04. Pics are here.
Daytrips sometimes, but most often I spend the night at Black Oak camp, just north of the ridge. From there, one can visit Rock House Ridge, with some fun scrambling on Hat Rock. Henry Coe is one of the gems of the south bay !
