Skied from the summit!
Hiked this with my wife and brother. It was super windy with gusts easily over 40 mph. Other than the wind it was a good hike for a saturday morning.
East hike. Up and off before breakfast, leaving enough time to spend the day climbing rock!
I must have been the only one not skiing off Loveland Pass...
Fun little hike and I only had to share the summit of Sinktau with a couple of chimunks since most people were stopping at the ridge
Hiked this as rehab for a broken ankle. A great acclimatizer for altitude as well.
This was my most recent climb of this convenient peak. I often drive to Denver for business and the last few years I have made it a point to stretch my legs here. Beautiful views.
Nice short easy hike. Spectacular views. Would be great as an after work/school hike.
Very windy and visibility was limited due to a storm that blew in. Two others were hiking up to the ridge to ski a chute back to their card on US6.
The round trip was under 3 hours, and the snow cover was very limited. There were alot of cornices on the final pitch, but I stayed on the trail and to the west side to avoid them.
Cold and windy, but stayed clear most of the day. Fun and easy ascent. Also visited Cupid.
Nice Walk. Beautiful views. Great Shots of Greys and Torreys in the distance.
A great little hike with fantastic views all the way.
This is a great beginner's hike into the mountains. For experienced hikers, they may want to continue on to Unnamed Point 13,118' and Grizzly Peak on the same high tundra stroll.
good work out and conditioning climb
More fun this time than in a November blizzard. Saw a goat with a radio collar. Also the first time I saw an airplane flying below me while I was standing on the ground.
Great mountain! Wonderful views of the Citadel and the dry gulch area! WOW!
Great hike. Alot more snow than I expected with high winds. Awsome views of surrounding area. Expected to see some goats but instead saw two bighorn rams bedded down on the very summit of the mountain.
My first 13er in winter! Sniktau is a great introduction to such conditions.
Had the mountain all to myself - of course there was a snow storm and wind and no one else was crazy enough to be out there. I met one person down at the bottom as I was heading back to the car. It was a great hike despite the conditions. It is a great get in shape or stay in shape hike when you want to do something short and get up high.
Acclimating climb on first day from sea level, got to the base of the summit ridge at 13K. Did not feel like dealing with the cornice. Awesome views. Met several backcountry skiers on the route. I have a lot of respect for these guys - this is real skiing.
