New stomping ground  Sucess!

Just moved from Florida to Mass; one thing I’m looking forward to is exploring and peak bagging the White Mountains. This is first since moving. Perfect weather. Muddy a first than quite icy all way up. Micros spikes were needed (although saw some without).
Loved it

Fun Water Crossings  Sucess!

I had a good view from the lookout by the ski trail but by the time I got to the summit, there was nothing but white to see. Lots of fun water crossings though!

Night Hike  Sucess!

Did this one completely in the dark. It was very quiet and a beautiful night, but pretty chilly so we moved fast.

Quiet hike  Sucess!

Ninety minutes up from the Tripoli Road trailhead and eighty minutes down. A softer hike than usual for a four thousand footer in the Whites but after the cold I had last week I was blowing like a porpoise heading up to the first ridge line. One thing I did notice was the lack of black flies. Real light for this time of year, even for a windy day. Only one other couple on the mountain.

Quick easy views  Sucess!

Lovely hike with some great views at the top. Saw another guy at the parking lot, but otherwise just me and the hermit thrushes all day. A really great small hike

#14!  Sucess!

This was #14 on our list. Rather enjoyable hike! We had great weather, only a bit cool when we stopped.

Done!  Sucess!

Great easy hike up a 4000 footer in the rain. No views with the cloudcover, but nice trail up from Waterville Valley, perfect spot to take the little ones for their first 4000+ summit. Only 38 more to go, then its off to N.C. and Tenn. to tackle all the 6000+ footers in the East. Who knows, maybe K2 before my body gets too shredded.

Another 4000 footer done  Sucess!

THIS WAS AN EASY 4.5 HOUR HIKE. IT APPEARS THAT SOMEONE HAS CUT DOWN A FEW TREES AT THE SUMMIT SO THAT THERE ARE SOME VIEWS. I'M SURE THIS WAS NOT AN AUTHORIZED CUT. THERE ARE MANY OTHER BETTER HIKES BUT I'VE DECIDED TO DO ALL THE NE 4000 FOOTERS SO THIS ONE IS OFF THE LIST

Route Climbed: Tecumseh Trail  Sucess!

Had a surprisingly enjoyable experience in the winter with beautiful views and a run down the snowy trail.

Mt. Tecumseh  Sucess!

After hiking Wildcat D with my dog, I picked up the White Mountain Guide to find something easier. Tecumseh was super easy and my dog and I reached the summit at about 10:15 a.m. Since I had taken the day off and didn't want to waste it, I decided to hike Osceola too.

New Year's Day  Sucess!

Solo hiked this on New Year's Day, 2010. The sound of the snow machines was annoying, but it faded away after a while. Clouds and snow prevented any views from the top.

Not Much To Say  Sucess!

no views and not a particularly rewarding trail.

Mt. Tecumseh Trail  Sucess!

Ascended from the ski area trailhead. If we hike again it will be from the Tripoli road trailhead.

Perfect Fall Day  Sucess!

A perfect fall day. The leaves on the ground were all kinds of colors and the sunlight made the trail sparkle. They also hid a huge amount of rocks and I don't think my ankles will be the same again! I met a lot of fun people both going up and coming down.

Ehhh  Sucess!

Do it as a half-day hike. Not much to see or do during the fall

warm-up  Sucess!

First peak of the Brian squared NE summitfest of 2008. Good warmup, not that great of views though. We did the side trail and would suggest foregoing it unless you like views of Nextel buildings.

Mount Tecumseh  Sucess!

Climbed via the Mount Tecumseh Trail from Waterville Valley. Probably the easiest 4000' in the White Mountains. Had some decent views from the side trail to the ski slopes and limited views of the Sandwhich Range from Tecumseh's wooded summit. There was a mouse hiding in the carin at the top.

from tripoli road  Sucess!

I went on a day with a bunch of clouds. There were absolutely no views, from the limited spots you have views on this mountain. I started at 0640, and got to the summit at 0820. The weather was supposed to rain in the afternoon, so I hardly spent any timne on the summit, and just went down real quick.

4th peak of the day  Sucess!

After climbing Mt. Tripyramid I had a few hours of sunlight and some more hiking left in me, so I made the short hike up. Decided to change things up a bit and headed down the skislopes which killed my knees but had much more interesting views than the trail.
