This was the 4th peak of our hiking extravaganza. Temple was our #1 goal for the trip. Eiffel and Temple are probably the most scenic climbs I have ever done up to this point, while Temple was also one of the most fun. We encountered a lot of loose stuff as expected and the gray band wasn't all that hard. This time of year there was almost no snow on the last slope. The only thing we used our axes for was the summit photo.

Sue and I climbed most of the way to the summit but did not continue on as we had a big day ahead of us getting in to the Neil Colgan hut by Fay the next day. Great climb though in fantastic weather.
Fantastic conditions but smoky from B.C. fires so view wasn't as good as possible. lugged two packs otherwise no difficulties encountered. Since my entire family was very sore from too much hiking we intended to just hike sentinel pass trail but after arriving at the pass in early afternoon my dad decided we could give it a go. 3000 feet of shale and a couple hours later we were on top of Mt Temple with fantastic views.

Three nations summit
We met a couple of Romanian climbers, Bruno and Elizabeth at 8:00amfor the ascent, and with two more spaniards at the trail head. The walk up to sentinel pass was pleasant with good views of mountains, marmots and the odd porcupine!! The scree was tedious but little spots of scrambling were fun. Not much snow apart from the summit cornices, massive, unstable and dripping tons of water!! After plenty of time on the summit we descended back to the car by 6pm.

Big Day for the Big Momma
I doubled back from Yoho National Park on my bike tour to climb this peak. Well worth the return trip and tiring bike approach! Eiffel Peak is also good to tag on in a long day.
After many years of saying that THIS was the year I would climb Temple, I finally got out and did it! Just amazing. The approach, the scramble, and the views were second to none. The weather was perfect but it didn't last beyond this day. (The next morning looked nice, but rain, hail, and lightning turned us back on Paget just by the lookout.)
A good scramble to a big, beautiful and well situated summit with incredible views.

SW Route
First 11,000 ft peak for me. Pretty green and poor at the time. Used duct tape and garbage bags to make gaiters. Luckily I wasn't dumb enough at the time to hang out on the cornices.

The route condition is now awesome. There is snow all the way up from the sentinel pass to the top. An early start would make the snow hard and easy ascend and even faster descend, but bring an ice axe! No grizzlies...a lot of people hiking to the sentinel pass, beautiful weather and great fun.
6:30h round trip.
