Route Climbed: South West (Normal) Date Climbed: 5th July 2001
Great day very sunny and hot. ( I could wear shorts till the very top) 4 and 1/4 hours to the summit. Not too much traffic on this day. Got an early start which was good as there is still lots of snow on the top portion so as the snow was firm early on I could make steps all the way through the two smaller gulleys (NOT the big gully which should be avoided) and avoid the scree. Dropped down early to try to avoid having my steps too mushy. But is was already turning to goo. Very hot in the lower areas. Be sure to stay away from the snow cornice at the top.
