Nice work. One of those "on my list" - I think next year...
You can't have too many left on your list...
I think I have something like 140 peaks climbed on a list of about 400 that's still growing. :)
Mt. Tom is near the very top of the "reasonable goals to climb before I'm too damned old for this stuff". Every time I drive through Bishop to Mammoth I stare at it. So I have to climb it just to reduce my risk of an accident on 395. :)
nice page. like the photos. very clear. what are some of the peaks in the background of those photos?
heading to buttermilk country in april to ski this baby, Basin and the wahoo gullies
Oh, look at that --- a REAL man's mountain! ;-)
Nice aerial shots! I would like better if in the "hero" photo Mt Tom appears higher than other mountains... It is not a small mountain, but some shots give such an impression.
Another fine page! Thanks. Also, thanks for citing your history ref - another clue for curious folk like me.
Hi Tom, glad you enjoyed the page. I have the book MIne in the Sky if you wish to borrow it.
Thanks for the offer. I found it listed at Amazon, so I'll try to buy it first. I'm a bad book borrower - I seem to lose them or wear them out before I get a chance to return them. =)
Nice page Barry.
One of the most awe-inspiring times of my life was driving my wife and daughter up the 395 on the way to Yosemite. Mt. Tom is incredible. I remember looking in my rear view mirror back at my sister and brother-in-law in the car directly behind us gasping and pointing at the mountain.
Thanks for the vote. When are you going up there?
I never knew the name of this peak until I found this page. Nicely done.
Shooting for early Sept. 2005. 3 of us so far. Best Mt. Tom page on the Network, ...in my humble opinion. Great job! Nice site too.
Thanks for checking out the page. As a stand-alone peak, Mt. Tom has wonderful views. Good luck on your September trip. Maybe think about posting a trip report. What route do you intend to take?
