Short and steep
Parked at Colorow Rd just off of Wakara Way, followed one of the trails through the vegetation going east to pick up the BST then followed that north to the Mt Van Cott "trailhead" in the U overflow parking lot. Steep and dry, only saw two other pairs of hikers (but it was 95F outside), nice views from just below the summit. Took a slightly different route down that dumped me on the BST further north, about the same steepness as the "standard" route. Two hours for my leisurely round trip from car to summit and back.
Note for the parking on Colorow Rd: There are signs up saying parking is only allowed 8am-6pm.

Beautiful March
Took the SW ridge up. Parked our car at the Nat. Hist. Museum. Beautiful day but a bit breezy. Temps in the 70s! Descended down the Mt. Van Cott trail to Red Butte Canyon. Easy early season climb.

I like Cephalapod gulch the most, but did a hard run the other day up the northernmost of the ridges coming of the Bonny in 28 min up and 45 round trip. Sore legs the next day for sure!
