After failing on some stuff in the tem Mike range I drove up here and did this
Did this with Rosalie, Epaulie, Epaulet, Evans and Spalding.
On the way back from a summit of Mount Evans, stopped to grab this pleasant peak. Hard to tell which rock grouping is the true summit!
On my way back from Grey Wolf and Spalding.
from Summit Lake with Rogers. Slept on summit of Evans and did some acclimation hikes before leaving for Elbrus.
Nice close 13er.
This was the 14er finisher parade for Britt and Paul. Over Goliath, Rogers, Warren, Spalding, W Evans, and finally Evans.
With Rogers Peak. Hardly realized this one was a mountain at all.
With Rogers Peak & Mount Evans
I hiked to the top of this bump one day back in the 80s. The recent addition to 14ers.com of a 13er check list caused me to discover I had another 13er! I didn't record the date.
12/11/09 - Started from Echo Lake and snowshoed directly up to meet the Mt. Evans road at 11,800 ft (cutting a few of the big switchbacks). Stashed the shoes at treeline and climbed Rogers and then Warren.
1/2/11 - I'm a glutton for punishment and repeated Rogers & Warren for the winter tick along with Mount Evans. Wind was horrible.
quick hike through the rain and mist to the summit of warren from summit lake. returned over the summit after hiking rogers.
16 miles roundtrip, climbed Evans (repeat climb) via the NE face, then Warren (13er), Rogers (13er), and Goliath (12er). Twas a bluebird day and I felt great!!
Climbed solo as part of a long ridge tour from Echo Lake - Goliath to Rogers to Warren to Spalding to Gray Wolf back to Echo Lake. Great warm spring day with plenty of sunshine! The road was still closed giving the place an eerie solitude.
A great solo day! Cloudy & snowy in the morning. The storm cleared up enough to see some of the great views later on. Almost stepped on a giant snowshoe hair near the summit, hard to say who was more startled me or it. A little over 16 miles roundtrip following the (closed) road from Echo Lake...
Good easy 13er, but beware the quick ascent
Started at Summit Lake and hiked up Warren and then headed over to Rogers. On the way to Rogers we saw 6 mountain goats. Beautiful day, with snow on the ground. then returned the way we came, but bypassed Warren on the return.
Enjoyed this peak with Rogers Peak for a nice outing. We got to see a snowshoe hair, an animal neither I nor my husband had ever seen in the wild. Lovely views and fantastic privacy.
Wife, dog and I.
