Great Ski, Lots of Wind!  Sucess!

Skinned, booted and slogged to summit via the true north along north ridge. Heinous snow conditions for skinning and ridiculous wind up top. Escaped the wind and crap snow by skiing northeast slope through Deer Creek right up to our vehicle. Stellar day!

From Boy Scout Camp  Sucess!

Cold November day, but no wind. Nice, solitary hike from the Boy Scout Camp above Lee Vining. Disappointed to find a horrible radio antenna on the summit - apparently brand new. We're not allowed to put fixed anchors in the wilderness, but it does not seem to stop the National Forest. Trip report

From Boy Scout Camp  Sucess!

Getting to the Camp was a bit of a misadventure - previous reports indicated that taking the left fork a half mile after leaving 120 was much better, except that there is one steep sandy section with a rut on one side and a large rock on the other, making uphill progress impossible (for me anyway). Wound up taking the road signed for the Boy Scout Camp (the right fork) which is far rougher but at least is passable. Coming down I took the left fork which was nice and easy, coasting down the sandy mess was not a problem as it was going up. As for the hike, there were lots of boulders and trees to navigate around, once you get about halfway up the routefinding becomes much easier. With all the extra driving I don't think this is a better route.

From Warren Fork  Sucess!

On an afternoon loop consisting of Warren, Lee Vining Peak, and Canyon Peak. Nice views, but kind of a boring scramble.

Traverse from Warren Fin  Sucess!

Tried to make the traverse from Warren Fin more than Class 2, but loose and not worth the effort with strong western winds. Check in the box for Warren, enjoyed climbing Fin much more.

East Face  Sucess!

From the Boy Scout camp. Dwarf trees and boulder fields galore kept it interesting. Not sure if I saved any time over the Tioga Road route.

From Warren Creek canyon  Sucess!

Nasty chute to the plateau, but incredibly beautiful views of Mono Lake from the summit. Four hours from TH on Tioga Road. About twenty parties have signed up the register in 2014 (so far).

From the road  Sucess!

Pretty straightforward hike and rock scramble to the summit. I found some space garbage a few hundred feet below the summit. Likely an old weather station that got blow apart.

Warren Rock, er, Fork route  Sucess!

Loved the climb up the chute, but coming down was not as fun. Stupid rocks.

East Ridge  Sucess!

Over from Canyon Peak and Lee Vining Peak. And yes, that is most certainly one big hole in the ground between Vining and Warren. I went up and over, along the southwest side of the hole. Descended Warren on what must have been near the Warren Fork Route but rarely saw any sign of a use trail. Boulder to boulder, then through the woods, and came across a fine trail along the creek for the last half mile. Not another soul seen all day.

Warren Fork Route  Sucess!

Figure out the route on my own. Basically followed the creek to ridge and then go directly to the summit.

Spring '12  Sucess!

Climbed via Warren Canyon with Amy. Encountered 50 mph winds on the way, and saw whitecaps on Mono Lake to verify it. Great hike otherwise, beautiful High Sierra meadows & nice views of Mt Dana east face.

Car to Car 4 hrs from Hwy 120. One of the easier SPS peaks and a good one for inebriated, late mornings. Cheers!

From Warren Fork  Sucess!

Just needed a peak to bag. Spent night on tree covered bench southwest of mountain just for the fun of it. There were thunderstorms all around.
