Nice hike. Lost the trail coming out of the trees, as did everyone else it seems, so built a few cairns on the way down.
Scary day. Melting caused a rock collapse on the ridge near 12,700' that tossed me down about 15 feet. Bruised and scraped, but continued on to the summit. Camped at the saddle of UN12505 and Yale.
Climbed with Caroline & Otina. A LONG GRUELLING day of having to plow our own trench clear to the East Ridge. Then ANOTHER down off Mascot Peak in the dark making a loop back to the TH.
Great weather, great people. One of the better days this winter despite the physciality.
Great day hike. I was able to hike all the way to the top without taking a break thanks to the box of oatmeal creampies consumed on the way up.
Fantastic winter day with no post-holing! climbed the east ridge and had lots of fun doing it.
Great trip, although it was cold all day. Went a little out of the way when the clouds blocked our view. Thanfully the flog cleared enough to see the peak. Nice view at the top.
An easy 6 1/2 hour lap from the super-accessible Denny Creek TH
Fun company and a lot of weather on the descent.
Great hike, awesome views and a trail that was easy to follow. The rock scrambling to the summit was great too.
Beautiful day without a cloud in the sky. Got to the summit around 10, and stuck around for an hour.
Beautiful creeks and greenery below tree line. The view of Buena Vista from the summit is awesome.
My 2nd 14er of this 2011 trip. Beautiful day.
Started early, summited without much weather concern, long descent.
Went up with my 6 m.o. pup Chaz and my friend Chris. Nice day.
No one on the east ridge.
I was just up there two days ago via the east ridge and after a recent snow dump the ridge was way too dangerous to attempt. Massive couloirs, 100mph winds, etc. We were postholing and bushwhacking all the way up to the ridge so we definitely got a phenomenal work out anyway! I will try again in summer or maybe go up the southwest ridge.
the dog crash with me on his first 14er and had a blast!
Absolutely atrocious avalanche conditions. We were not deterred from a summit. No Darwins awarded.
