YOUNG OVERVIEW by an old mountaineer

by Antonio

Incredibly, the Time goes by. Whether you look behind your back, whether you look ahead, but especially if you look up to heaven. Are you seeing an empty impressive and you do not need to be on a spaceship. The vacuum is always empty, and in the light of a sunny day and even more in the dark depths of the Night. And the stars that shine stuck in the dark vault of heaven rather than approach them away more and more contacts with our little earthly reality. So you look and a sense of anguish rises in your Soul. Stay in the darkness of night to think and understand that will come another winter. If you are serene, anticipating the forerun projecting you into the new Spring. Otherwise, the Sea of Memories will surround you like a thin fog permeating your Entire Being. And not only the bad memories that will shatter your little Ego, but also those that will make you re-emerge days and exciting young companies and cheerful. Always in life you have to deal with something, it is the Past, Present or Future. A Summary and a continuous Checking Accounts, not be stopped. And meanwhile time passes and you realize it when you, perhaps accidentally, open an Old Album of photographs. Time has worn them also, by removing shine and spreading over a dull light that damaging, but not so strong as to cancel Pictures and Memories ...

Incredibly, the time re-emerges as an Old Album

Chewing your toothpick that you notice it's been 50 Years, half a Century, since in that distant Summer of 1963 you enjoyed exploring the ice caves that had gnawed by the summer sun in front of the snowfields at the foot of the Grandes Jorasses. Vagabondavi running through Sunday with your brother and his family, without even knowing what it was the Mountain, and still less of the Climbing. A sense of foreboding and an omen that would soon have you plotted it completely changed life forever, marking a deep rut. Forever.
And, anyway, you went ahead and you also saw the Ghost of Old Peasant who looked out from the meadows below the village with his bucket to get water in the fountain. Then it is gone. Forever? No, because if you have faith and go back to that place, one day, you will see it reappear, as will rediscover again early drawings made with sand in the banks of Baltea. Just behind at home...

Appena dietro a casa tua ...

And it is the Young that I dedicate this little work, with the Wish that one day they can with their Old Friends, comrades of so many Adventures in the Mountains, or by their Grandchild, extract from an old drawer, an old Album of old photographs, now time-worn but still able to rekindle old Enthusiasms Youth. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to All from an Old Photo Album ...

Parents refers to a larger category under which an object falls. For example, theAconcagua mountain page has the 'Aconcagua Group' and the 'Seven Summits' asparents and is a parent itself to many routes, photos, and Trip Reports.
