I started hiking and climbing peaks along Highway 2. Last year I started to branch out to this area. First Mountain Loop Highway summit aside from Pilchuck was Del Campo.
Great place in our backyard. Glad to see so many people enjoying the area now that summer has sprung- even if some mountain learning includes rescues. Live large.

When mountaineering was still new to me I used to go on a lot of solo hikes on the Mountain Loop. This area was instrumental in my learning about mountaineering and my passion for peakbagging. Many of the routes in this area have a wide variety of terrain.

Good times!
I've had some very memorable times in the mountain loop highway, first visited back in 2005 which is when I ascended up my first Mountain which was Mount Pilchuck in Winter during sunset. Ever since that's how I got into mountaineering, and never have looked back since.
