Hi Ben jammin,

very good, that you added this page!! I really missed this mountain and I have just put it in our thread on Missing peaks in the Europe forum as "wanted mountain" - just a few minutes ago ;o).

Today, I mailed with John Scoles and we were discussing about kind of a pool concerning general infos of one area from which infos could be attached to each page. Maybe we are going to make a concrete proposal to Josh. I personally think, that it is better if each mountain-page stands on its own with all infos. But as far as we do not have such a pool, your solution with the link to the Mont Blanc Massif page works. (I have just put links from the Mont Blanc Massif page to your new mountain-page and route-description).

Therefore, the only thing, which you now really should add, is precise description of the approach to the Ref. du Requin. I added my description of the approach to the Ref. Cosmiques. And maybe you could write a few sentences more in the overview and on the routes in general.

And, well, you wrote: "some north face horrors for the hard men" ... maybe it is also horror for women ;o)). You could add that this northface is more than 1000 hm high.

Concerning the camping on the GĂ©ant Glacier, I added some infos.

Good page!

Regards, Rahel

Hi Rahel,

Thanks for the comments.

I think that it would be a good idea to consolidate all of the general information (e.g. Approach / Camping / Red Tape / Conditions) for a specific area such as Chamonix into one spot on SummitPost. This would avoid having to "re-invent the wheel" for this information on new pages, and also mitigate the temptation to plagarise data from existing pages. ;-)

The thing with the hard men / women was a typo while builing the page (fixed now). I know lots of women who climb much harder than I do! =:-o

ciao

Thanx for the vote, mountaindog. The Midi-Plan is a very worthwhile day out: spectacular views and technically not particularly difficult - you should definitely try and do it if you get a chance.
