"After the first glass, you see things as you wish they were. After the second, you see things as they are not. Finally, you see things as they really are, which is the most horrible thing in the world."

Untitled CommentIs the summit really as big and flat as it looks? Reminds me of Mt. Moran.

Untitled CommentThanks for the vote Melinda!
Yes, the summit is pretty flat, although not as flat as Squaw peak to the north, on which you could probably park a dozen city buses.
And like most things in the Uintas, the distances were deceiving too - once on the summit ridge it seemed like we were almost to the top, but the ridge just kept going and going and going.....

Untitled CommentReally nice pix. This mountain looks as laid back as Jo Mary Mountain.

Yes, this is one laid-back mountain - it looked so easy it seemed like you could just run up there, but in the 12,000-foot air my lungs were telling me otherwise.

Untitled CommentGood page. One request: Can you give specific directions to the Rock Creek Trailhead from a major town nearby. Thanks.

Untitled CommentGreat page and beautiful mountain. It is now an instant SP sentimental favorite of mine since I am "just a skinny little boy from Cleveland, Ohio," (Alex Bevin of "Cleveland Rocks" fame).

I knew I'd eventually get a comment from some Cleveland native out there ;)

Untitled CommentGood page Joseph. I'm always amazed at the American crave for statistics. So this would be no 41.

Yes, we certainly seem to be stat happy. Coming from an engineering background I tend to be especially obsessed with numbers...
