Beautiful looking place. Is there any Civil War history in this region?

Thanks. Yes, it's quite beautiful. No Civil War history that I know of.

Good page on a low but impressive mountain. Nice pictures, too.

I don't know why it took me so long to climb this one. One of the most impressive peaks in NC, for sure.

Interesting. I wasn't aware of the great rock climbing in N.C. Nice page.

There are some major climbs here in the state. I'm told Looking Glass is comparable to some of the better western walls.

I just got back from a climbing trip at Seneca Rocks, West Virginia. There's some real exposure there as well. Check out my latest pictures.

Yeah, I saw those already. I voted on them. Very nice.

I keep thinking I should try some technical climbing, but over the years I've gained so much weight that I don't think I should try it. I weighed 172 when I got married, and now, twenty years later, I weigh 220. I'm in decent shape as far as stamina goes, and I have good upper body strength, but I'm just too fat to get out on those walls, I think.

Thanks. One of the best hikes I've had in some time. Slipped at the top of the cliffs and had a real scare, though. (Got to buy some new boots.)

Thanks. I'm heading over to southwestern NC tomorrow to add at least one peak to Summitpost. Look for it late tomorrow evening or Friday. (I generally like to post new pages while the memories of hiking them are fresh.)

Thanks. We don't have many peaks here in this part of North America with a lot of exposed rock. This is one of the most prominent. Our moutains are mainly covered in beautiful, green forests.

Thanks for posting this page. It may be close enough for me to actually try climbing. I may have overlooked what looks like a great place without you bringing it to Summit Post.

One of the South's great peaks! You need to hike it, or climb it if you're a climber. Only a few walls better than the ones on Looking Glass in the Southeast.
