Nice page - I borrowed some "conditions" info. for my Birch Mtn. page. I'd definitely like to bag this "almost 14'er"

I recommend a different pic for the headline.

Yeah, I agree. It’s a nice photo of my friend Mike, but not a very good photo of just the mountain.

I’m hiking the High Sierra Trail in 3 weeks and I was planning to revisit Wallace Basin and take a few photos of Barnard. Hopefully I can get something more appropriate.

You can use someone else's picture of this mountain too. Just hover your mouse over it to get ID.

Done! I was in the area a month ago and took another shot of Barnard.

Thanks for your input.

Not so sure this is not a 14er by some measure. The U.S. Geodetic survey gives Mt. Whitney at 14505 which is 7-10 feet more than the geological survey. An extra 7 feet and a cairn- makes sense to me.

I'm 6-2--If I get a good, running jump, my finger tips can crack 14,000.

nice!

this is an excellent page - all the information needed is there: distance to nearest trail head, list of the technical routes, and references on where to find more information on them. seriously, good job - I wish all mountain pages of "lesser popular" peaks were like this
