Luckily I like to surf and the outer banks is near and there is tons of paddling nearby. Maybe we can do a peak in the blue ridge sometime.

other end of snake trail

I've followed the route here, got to the top and hiked along the ridge for a mile or so.....it seems the trail keeps going down the other side of the mountain. On google, there is a snake trail that looks like it ends up on the road just pass elk knob. Anyone know anything about this? If not, I will check it out next trip up there.
