Good effort for a first! you might include a section on weather conditions. There must be tons of sites in Ca which can be used for the information.

Nice page about a great area. Considered going up Wildrose last time I was there, before deciding to check out the Racetrack, instead. Check out my Ubehebe Pk (near the Racetrack) page before you go to Death Valley next- cool place!

great hike

We just did this hike last week (March 10, 2009), and enjoyed it very much. GREAT views of Telescope Peak when you get up past the 8000-ft. mark. There were some patches of snow, but they were mostly pretty small and far apart. However, in the switchbacks near the summit, patches of snow closer to the north-facing slope did have us guessing where the main trail was a couple times, but it wasn't too hard to use the main ridge as a pointer to the summit. I personally might feel a little leery about doing this hike in mid-winter if the snow pack obscures a lot of the trail.
