Starting Points

As a helpful comment to those looking for the starts to Moon Goddess Arete and Sun Ribbon Arete, this is the standard approach to both climbs. In the early part of the season, the talus field is usually covered in snow. On the left hand side of the photo, the toe of the buttress marks the start for MGA. Traverse out to the left by ascending terraces and ledges then follow the arete closest to the couloir on low end 5th. The arete along the skyline is Venusian Blind Arete. For Sun Ribbon Arete, continue up on the snow till its narrows into the couloir. Look to the right and find a moderate ledge that leads right. Follow the ledge to a left facing corner (5.7). This is the start to SRA.
