Coast of South Velebit

On the coast of South Velebit, looking out of Porat Bay towards Velebitski Kanal (Velebit Channel) and Pag island. Views like this accompany you all the time when driving along the coast of Velebit. On Pag you can notice 2 of 7 60m high power wind mills. After much talk it was concluded that they shouldn't have been put there, but too late (permit was issued years ago). They will try to turn into electricity some of amazing power of Bura wind which blows from Velebit and because of which Pag is bare. But it seams Bura is too strong for them. They switch off when wind exceeds 25m/s and Bura below Velebit almost always gusts above that limit! Photo: Aleksandar Gospic
