Mt. Dana (& Mt. Gibbs to its L), as seen from Mono Lake (one of the oldest lakes in N. America)- those funky rock-like looking projections are tufa towers (calcium carbonate)- the lake used to be that high! 26 June, 2004

Thanks, Aaron- it was really pretty easy to take a nice shot that evening. Amazing sunset @ Mono Lake. If you take another trip to California's mountains, make sure to check out the Sierra (& Yosemite Valley, Tuolumne Meadows, & Mono Lake along the way!)!
