Hearst Lake
If you're taking the Hearst Lake approach to Haggin, I highly recommend bringing your mountain bike. The first three miles in are ridden easily and the remaining three steepen in places that demand advanced skills. You can walk your bike in these sections or power up them depending on your skill level. When you descend Haggin and return to Hearst Lake, the exit is made so much sweeter knowing your bike is there to coast you out.
We had a bluebird day on the summit and enjoyed the views both on the way up and from the top!

Hiked from Lake Hearst
Was a beautiful day, scrambling up wasn't too bad. My first summit ever!

Lengthy day
Took 5 hours and 45 minutes to the top but I aimed for the eastern summit first, then ridge walked over to the west side. The wire next to the nominal trail was visible, but only after you get past the shack and get out onto the scree slope. Just under four hours down.
I live in Anaconda, been up the peak a hand full of times in all seasons. leave no trace ethics are lacking at northwest lakes. please clean up if you can.

West ridge from Barker Lakes
Gotta check it out - everyone else has. And it's well worth the effort. Anaconda residents are lucky to have such a big mountain in their backyard. Walking the long east-west ridge on a beautiful summer day is a lot of fun! Now I'll want to give it a shot in winter.

Winter Ascent
The first of many winter trips with rmick25. Sledding down snowmobile tracks from Hearst Lake made for bobsled like descent. Great summit with views of the Anaconda/Pintler Wilderness clad in white.

via Hearst Lake
This is a long trek from the outskirts of town. A very large summit cairn shaped like a throne sits on Haggin along with a couple of summit registers. A quick look at the register entries indicates that this is the most climbed A-P summit.

Great winter climb
After years of talking about doing it we done did it. Although cold, a great winter climb. Brought sleds into Hearst Lake. Rode them out most of the way. Good Fun
