Mt. Humphreys

Mt. Humphreys

Another take of Mt. Humphreys from Lower Desolation Lake. Now with a different GND filter. I will delete the photo that receives less votes after a few days. Which one do you prefer? Here is the link to the original photo.

Awesome shot

How could this get anything but a 10?

Bitter? Huh?

Bitter voters suck? What are you talking about?

I gave this photo a 9 out of 10... that is a high vote on what I condider a great photo (not unbelievable or incredible). Unlike a lot of people I don't throw a 10 out of 10 on everything. Not sure how that makes me bitter!? Seems that at least one other voter agreed.

If you want to see bitter, look at Dow William's down votes on my photos. Here are a few examples where is voted photos at least 2 stars below what everyone else voted!

Oh, and the kicker... he voted this a 5-star! That is a bitter voter!

Peace

First of all, thanks to all who voted! Frankly, I stopped caring too much about votes a while ago (being on SP for 4 years takes its toll:), but it is certainly warming to see that folks here defend my work and consider it to be excellent. I really appreciate it.

As for the lower than 10 votes, I don't mind this at all. I guess my only small beef is with the way SP calculates image ratings. Apparently, if somebody with *some* power rates a photo less than 10, it actually reduces its rating. Not sure why this is done this way but it seems rather silly. In my mind, 9 points is practically excellent. It should not penalize the image's rating.

What is going on...

I happen to think this photo is more realistic in its colour-that's all. I was in the identical area on the same 14 days Mischa was, and this is the colour i saw more than I saw in the "other" photo. I think SP must STOP rating people's "voting" power-how childish can you get!! A good photo is a good photo is a good photo-and I think it frankly stupid to give some people a higher voting power than others based on whose criteria? I do know this-that countless photos by this photographer have moved me powerfully, and this one is glorious. As he so often does, Mischa captures the magic of this great mountain range, and since I have only between 1 and 10 stars, I'll give this a 10.
Why doesn't SP reduce the stars avaiable to 4. Then all of us would really have to think before we vote. Otherwise, SP should stop voting on the voters, and give every member exactly the same "power" with their votes. I've seen some people who have submitted more than 750 photos to SP-does this give them a bigger vote power? I know of only one photographer whose amount of photos submitted equals the level of his photographic skill-and you're looking at one of his photos right now...

**********

I prefer more to the one above. It is muchlighter and more dtails but still strong in color and contrast.
I don't think that rating helps tht photo to be worth more or less but I give you all stars.

This one better too...

Hi M, I like this one better too -- it really brings out the reflection -- but they are both fantastic. :^)
