Rico and I climbed the NW Ridge from South Lake C2C in 10hrs. This was June 10th of a low snow year and we found just enough firm snow to crampon up to Treasure Col. Maybe 500' of 35deg snow. My guess is one week later and we would have been on loose rubble. We then scrambled the ridge to the summit. There is some loose rock on this ridge until the final 400' where the climbing becomes beautiful.
We descended the south slopes which were loose and sandy; I would not recommend this route for ascent.
Instead of gaining the NW Ridge from Treasure Col, consider climbing the "North Couloir" that leads more directly to the summit. This line would put you on the ridge just as the beautiful rock starts.
