Mt. St. Helens is a stratovolcano. Here is one bit of proof: notice the layering of consecutive flows. I'm no geologist but I'm guessing the red streaks are lava flows while the gray ones are pumice and ash depositions.

Looks pretty crumbly

Do you have to agree to respect the rights of Hephaestus when climbing here? Seems pretty lame.

Yeah, it's one big rubble pile with a hole in it.
