Ocean of green  Sucess!

Wondered about this hike for years, but finally got up there after our bountiful winter rains to find a lusher scene than any I'd witnessed in California. It was miraculous to see all this grass after the recent fire, but the ocean views were what made this hike. Extremely good effort-to-reward ratio... so of course there was a steady stream of people heading up and down the mountain all afternoon long. No mistaking this for a wilderness area, lol.

With everyone else  Sucess!

Seldom have I seen so many people on such a small peak. A constant line of hikers streamed up and down the steep slope on a busy weekend morning.

Short and steep  Sucess!

From: La Jolla Canyon trail  Sucess!

Nice February day in the 70's, long distance views somewhat obscured by moisture in the air. Did this easy one with my fav girl. Burn area is just beginning to shows signs of life.

Great weather and stunning views!  Sucess!

Despite the fact that a fire has recently burnt down nearly all the vegetation in this area, I still thought this hike was great. It was almost like hiking on another planet. The best part is when you wind your way up toward the top and you get stunning views of the ocean. The contrast of the burnt ground and blue ocean is very unique. I definitely recommend this hike!

Foggy  Sucess!

Last peak of the day after hiking seven other LPC peaks in the area. No views whatsoever at the top due to fog. Kind of disappointing.

Short and steep  Sucess!

Chumash trail from PCH to summit via west ridge. Descended to the east, connected with the Mugu Peak trail and hiked back to the Chumash trail and down to the PCH. Very foggy today with a few views on the way down.

Enjoyed  Sucess!

a cold beer on the summit as I continue to recover from back surgery. Will definitely be back as this is a nice quick hike for some good views when the marine layer isn't thick.

Gorgeous Hike....reminiscent of Channel Islands National Park   Sucess!

We did the 9 mile loop trail: The beginning of the hike is not that easy, but it flattens out midway through. The hike is breathtaking , but be sure to wear long pants because you are brushing up against a lot of shrubbery and plants about 75% of the time. The last .3 miles to the top is exceedingly steep! Ocean views and an American flag at the top. Don't think that it's an easy hike on the way down: tbere was a surprising amount of uphill. Well worth it! Lovely!!

Great Hike  Sucess!

Hiked the leisurely way up from La Jolla Valley and ended up going down the exceedingly steep Chumash Trail - about 4 mi round trip. Grass is green, wildflowers are blooming, and the views were spectacular :)

Started at the parking lot next to the seabee shooting range, climbed a smaller peak next to Mugu and Mugu itself in under an hour.

From Navy firing range  Sucess!

When I used to work at Vitesse Semiconductor (in Camarillo, CA), I would stop by here after work and run up Mugu Peak from the parking lot across the Navy firing range. Best time up: 20 min.
