Mason Rock

Thanks for posting your picture of Mason Rock. Did you climb and stand on top of it? It's easily done, with care. Two more good pics:

I was shocked Big Gulch had such nice trails that were so close to home in Picnic Point, 4.3 miles away. It was fun exploring every nook and cranny of the park yesterday. On the upper Library Trail near the Mukilteo library, I was surprised to encounter a fox, but he quickly slunk away.

At the lower end of the main trail, there's a rope swing but I can't imagine anyone using it. As much as I like rope swings, this one looked hazardous. First, just to reach it, one would have to scramble down a near vertical cliff while hanging onto vegetation. After swinging out on it, if it can still hold one's weight, it seems like one could easily get stranded by not getting back to the cliff. And at that point, if letting go, surely one would die or be seriously injured by the long drop to the brushy valley floor.
