Fourth time from North Loop
Startling that there was no snow, not even piled on the north side below the cliffs, so early in the season. Enjoyed seeing Harlan up top after a couple of decades. First time up was 9-27-08, with both Rusty and Abby; how Rusty made it up the chute is beyond me. Big heart in that dog. Storm clouds started to move in while we were up top and we hurried down in the rain. Other times have been with only Abby: 6-20-10, 7-15-11 and this one. Special place up there.

Third Peak of the Day
South loop to Griffith and Charleston. Took the North loop trail on the way down and went up Mummy Mountain. This was first ever real scrambling. Lots of fun, but tiring towards the end of my hike.

Trail Canyon - N. Loop - scree scramble
There were lots of people parked at Trail Canyon trailhead today, so I expected a crowd on top -- instead, I was surprised that I'm only the second person in 2012. It's early yet, though. Still quite a bit of hard, icy snow paths along the base of the cliffs, so route finding was a bit of a challenge at times. Beautiful on top, glad to have finally made it up.

Trail Canyon to North Loop, great hike
Took us 3 attempts but we finally reached the top. The North Loop trail is so scenic and from the scree slope forward the hike gets very interesting.
Again on 6/28/14.
Again on 9/27/14, after summitting Charleston.
Again on 5/28/16 with some snow and ice to detour around on the ridge to the chute.
Again on 9/3/17, up the scree slope, down the E chute, over to Mummy's Toe, then back around to Trail Canyon. GPS tracks
Again on 9/21/17, up the standard scree slope route with a friend. Down the same way. 50MPH gusts at the top, windiest hike I've ever been on. Beautiful fall colors.
Again on 8/25/18, just a run up and down the standard screen slope route. Up in 1:38, total time 2:39.
Again on 7/13/19, from Trail Canyon up the scree slope.

2nd try was a charm :)
Tried once a long time ago but my friend gave up so I had to head down with him. This time I went up on the other side, it was much easier. This was the first peak of a 3-peak day with the LVMC training for Rainier.

long loop
took south loop to griffith, charleston, and then north loop to mummy. mummy trail good, others had snow in parts still on them
Awesome Day, Great Weather, No Snowshoes which made the ridge and backside of Mummy interesting. Charlie Mountain Pug made it up and down by himself. Great Day, Fun Hike!

Went up the scree to the tummy. If you love scree, do it. It was the final peak of 4 that day including Harris, Griffith, and Charleston.

Fantastic Outing
This was one of my favorite outings of the year to date. Mojavebobcat and I climbed the standard route, electing to do the class 2 chute to the summit. The route was snow-free, save for a few patches along the ridge above the North loop trail. While it was 105 degrees down in Las Vegas, we enjoyed a summit temperature of 63 degrees and great views that extended all the way to Langley/Whitney, 145 miles away. The view northeast was the most obscured by haze, presumably due to the prevailing airflow in the Las Vegas Valley. Overall, another great day touring the Desert Peaks Section mountains.

1st of Triple Peak Loop
Did this one first, then Charleston, then Griffith. Thee scree slope was more fun coming down then going up. Look for the tree with a "M" on it, the trail is easy to follow after climbing the scree.

Hail, Sleet, and Rain
It's always fun to leave Vegas at well over 100 degrees and climb for a few hours to tag a summit under hail and freezing rain. Went up the standard scree slope route.

This peak is one of my favorite mountain in Souther Nevada. Climbed up 17 times in 2 years.
Did Mummy Nose to Toe, 3 peaks, 4 peaks, 5 peaks in 1 day etc...
I love Deer Creek - Peak direct ascent route.
