Mystery Canyon - ZNP

This was a fun trip because the Zion Narrows had been flooding and it was a crazy year that way. Because my partner is on the Zion Search and Rescue team we got to go through Mystery and the section of the Narrows from Mystery to the trailhead to make sure it was safe and it could be open to permits. It was just sort of fun to be the first that year. ;)

Classic Slot Canyon!

tanya? Is there anybody around Zion or the Carmel Mountain area who knows about the subject of Botany or flowering plants??? I have a FIREWEED photo posted on my image page,
and I was wondering WHAT I took a picture of.

Hey, I'm glad to see there's somebody OUT inspecting these slot canyons. We had some "water-related" problems when I worked out at Roosevelt Lake. Are you getting any snow coming down on the towers, yet??? Awesome. Regards to you & your partner!!!

Re: Classic Slot Canyon!

Yes! Snow galore. Went to the Basketball game in St. George last night and driving home was not fun! Slides galore on the switchbacks in Zion and snow blowing at my windshield. Sun came up today and melted it but there have been mixed water and snow flurries all day.

Was the photo taken in Zion?

That sounds great !

In 1996, I flew from Phoenix to Seattle, then
from Seattle to Anchorage, and Anchorage to Nome in western Alaska. MY ARMS GOT TIRED!!!

Aaaaaaaaa, what SAVED me was a STEAMING HOT cup of coffee from STARBUCKS. Take care, Tanya!!!

Re: That sounds great !

I headed straight for something steaming hot today after Zion. We did a peak and a wash/peak thing. GORGEOUS! The sandstone just broke in our hands it was so wet. Few to no hand-holds! Scary!

I want to go to Alaska!
