See my report and pictures here:
Warm day with rhunderstorm, icy rocks near the summit.
Nice mountain, excellent conditions, just a bit crowded in the final section below the summit.
A very fine day out with the Speyside boys. Fresh snow on the glacier and on the ridge. An enjoyable climb in good company.
Very nice climb and weather
I was only 19 years young and went with 2 friends. That was a good experience. It is a long way from Bordierhut but it is worth it!! Because of the heavy ascent to Mischabelhut!!
Climbed the Nadelhorn with my Dad on this wonderful cloudless day and at the last opportunity for the summit before the Hut closed. Since it was late in the year and it had snowed the day before we were few to attempt it. Lots of snow after the windjoch and freezing cold. glorious views from the top
2003: An amazing summit which allowed me to end my vacation in beauty. I'll be back for the traverse with Lenzspitze and/or Stecknadelhorn.
2009: It is said that the Lenzspitze - Nadelhorn Traverse is one of the most beautiful and rewarding climbs in the Valais. After completing the traverse I can only confirm this. However the ridge rising to the Nadelhorn is quite long and demanding, although it gives good climbing on compact rock. Don't try this if the weather is unstable. Some guidebooks say the ridge between Lenzspitze and Nadelhorn can be climbed in less than 2 hours. Although very well acclimatised and in superb condition, it took us more than 3 hours...I don't want to know how long it will take if you are catched by a thunderstorme and some snowfall up there...
Shared this perfect day with Martin (see next entry). We summitted Stecknadelhorn on that day as well.
Summited the Nadelhorn on the way back from Lenzspitze. In early season a lot of snow on the ridge. Climb over the 4 or 5 small towers, do not pass them at the side when there is some fresh snow.
Before reaching the summit, we turned to the Stecknadelhorn.
See my much too verbose summit log for the Lenzspitze.
