Fun hike from Tony Grove. Thunderstorm impeded my progress for about an hour. Not much of a view from the summit due to cloud cover. Another county highpoint down
Amazing loop trip doing Naomi, then ridge north to Peak 9828 "Bullen Hole Peak", then east to Mount Gog, then a nice hike and climb back to the gap to summit Mount Magog. One of the best loop peakbagging trips in Utah! Map of route at http://www.willhiteweb.com/utah_climbing/bear_river_mountains/naomi_gog_magog_394.htm
This is also my 7TH county highpoint. Great day out not anyone on the trails.
One of northern Utah's best mountains.
Beautiful trail and scenery in a picturesque northern Utah mountain range. Hiked with my bro-in-law, Michael Eschenberg.
I love this area, easy hike for a county highpoint!
Beautiful area. There were a lot of people at the trailhead, but I had the summit to myself. It was a perfect day to relax and lay in the sun on top.
I hiked this at least 5-6 times..never gets boring!!
Nice hike. Very impressed by Tony Grove. It would be a fun place to camp with the kids.
My 10 yr old son and I set of around 8:30 am. Spend a while going up enjoying the views and having breakfast along the trail. This is our first hike of our endevor to bag the highest in each county. Looking forward to the rest!
This is my second time at the summit. My youngest son, Jeremy, accompanied me on the 1+21 jaunt to a rocky summit where the views are grand. Yes, it costs 3 bucks to park at the TH unless you stop about a mile short of the parking lot.
Once was with Props the day he saw the sailplane go by. It was one of the coolest sights I've ever seen. This has been a favorite hike of mine whenever I'm in the area with time to do it.
Forest Service needs to get rid of the fees
The first time I was on the summit I watched a sailplane quietly glide through the canyon west of the peak a few hundred feet below me.
Great hike. With seven peaks down, I have 19 more to go.
This is a wonderful hike with great scenery the entire way up.
While this hike was beautiful, the most amazing thing I saw was on the drive up. Off the side of a the road a golden eagle was gorging itself on a dead deer carcass that looked very fresh. When I came within 10 yards it looked up and swooped off down the road. Breathtaking.
Convinced a state highpointing friend to join us on this nice northern UT peak. A beautiful area and a nice hike!
It was really pretty up there that day! The cliffed side of the peak was covered in clouds but then the hikers side was nice and clear. I sat up there for probably 30 min. watching the clouds that eventually surounded me. I remember looking off into the wall of clouds and then they would thin in an area and it would create a window of sceneary for a moment. I was wondering if I had died and was now looking down at earth within heavenly clouds! :-)
A great day hike. The day started just cloudy then it got really foggy and cold. There was six inches to a foot of snow in the higher portion of the mountain. But worth it with all the solitude, not a single person but me on the mountain that day.
