Navajo Falls

Navajo Falls

New Navajo falls are located about 1.5 miles (2.4 km) past the Supai village. There was a flood in August of 2008, which destroyed Navajo Falls and new falls were formed. More than 450 people had to be evacuated from the canyon.

Re: But ...

Believe me - Arizona has more water than what
the average person thinks.

Canada? Makes sense; there seems to be a
flood of people moving north to escape from
the sinking economy of America.

When I was there ...

we practically could not see Navajo Falls. It was very much hidden from view shying away from photographers.

Re: When I was there ...

Again the flood. I read that it slightly changed the directions of the river, so falls look different now... And I thought first that there was a construction going by - hehe.... but it was the flood...

Re: Beautiful falls!

Thank you...these falls are on an indian reservation, and the color of its water + surrounding red rock make it look really spectacular...

Excellent photo

No wonder the residents of Supai have lived there for over 700 years. Havasu Canyon is so peaceful & beautiful.
