Ah, Harry Daly in Spring! Check out that view!
Frisky and I are so glad to be out and about again. We've had a long winter shut up indoors, (never mind what we were doing!), but this gorgeous April morning is beckoning. We decided to climb Harry Daly in Yosemite. I am especially limber from all those positions I've been getting into.
A beautiful breeze.
It's a breezy day, but we are SO glad to be outdoors, we are not concerned. (By the way, I was talking about YOGA positions before.)
I reach the first belay station, and stop for a moment to enjoy the view. I can see the Royal Arches and
the Valley! Can you?
Frisky's turn to lead.
This is Frisky's first lead since the accident. She says she's feeling confident, so I give her the green light, and she takes off!
Frisky doesn't let a little thing like a broken neck prevent her from doing the things that she loves! Go on, show 'em what you're made of! You're truly an inspiration to us all!
Uh-oh! That was a screamer, all right!
We are so glad that Frisky made it, we decide to celebrate in typical DOA style!
I'm going to try to make it over that roof next. It looks a little daunting. I'm not sure if I can...maybe if I do this...hey! Frisky! No more awkward booty shots, OK?
I never thought I'd say this, but that bulge is just TOO big! We could use a little help.
"Help is on the way, girls!"
Who is that Super-stud?
Look closely at the belt.
Frisky and I just LOVE hairy guys! Especialy when they offer to lead over the hard parts! Wait, what is that in his belt? Is that mistletoe?
The Beast's friend Quazi offers to belay. He says he likes to handle thick ropes. I wonder what he means by that? I also wonder when the Beast will realize his friend is handling the wrong rope?
Whew! We made it!
The beast got us over the roof, so now I'm going to lead the next section. Quazi wants to follow. I found out afterwards he can free-solo a 5.12. Why do you suppose he wanted to climb behind me?
The three of us climb while the Beast belays.
Bet you didn't know Harry Daly was four pitches! Give us a break, we're only 11 and 1/2 inches tall! (Frisky likes to say 12.)
Frisky leads on two ropes so the boys can simul-climb.
Always check for knots!
That looks like an accident waiting to happen!
Frisky gets frisky at sunset!
After a successful climb, Frisky gives the Beast a little taste of DOA hospitality!
Don't do it, Frisky!
The Beast reminds Frisky that the mistletoe is in his belt.
OMG, what happened to your face?!?!
Told ya' not to kiss him there! You should know by now what happens to your boyfriends when you kiss them! Remember that fiasco with the frog last year?
Sorry, Prince Charming
Frisky and I prefer natural beauties. Quazi was born this way, so we can kiss him anywhere we want, and he'll never change! Look at the size of those hands!
