Great report, you're hardcore on these hps, having read your Western one as well. I just did almost your EXACT trip recently, so now I'll have to wait a week or so before posting my trip report. We didn't do Maine, though, and I got turned back from Mt Washington .5 miles from the top due to Hurricane Ike and his 60-80mph sustained winds. Also didn't do NY, which is a long hike as I understand.
Too bad about the winds on Washington, hopefully you'll get better weather next time. Mt Marcy was a long hard hike due to the trail? being very rocky in places and muddy in others.
