East Face, South Summit, Cathedral Rock.
This is another classic Garden route. 3 pitches.
This is easy to spot. It is a large dihedral in the center of this face.
: Climb to a double bolt anchor.
: In the dihedral, jam to the second set of double bolts. The crux of the route is here - a pretty exposed layback.
: Scramble to the top. No set belay point here.
Descent: There are two options. Some parties rappel from the second set of bolts. Double rope required. You can also go to the top and scramble down the south ridge of Cathedral.
FA: Harvey Carter, 1959.
Large gear - stoppers, hexes, cams. Slings, quickdraws. Double ropes are needed to rap from the second set of anchors.
